On the sidelines, the global discourse on locally-led adaptation to climate change is catching up with the pace which needs to be further strengthened for local climate actions. [...] Moreover, to ensure the effective implementation of any strategy towards net zero and adaptive actions, community involvement and localisation of climate action would be essential and would also ensure that any transition plans do not leave anyone behind in the transition journey. [...] A robust transition plan should not only cater to mitigating the impacts of climate change but also to make economies climate resilient and ensure the enhancement of the adaptive capacities of communities. [...] In addition, a number of states have taken concrete actions to ensure localisation of climate action, notably the states of Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat to name a few. [...] Furthermore, the Indian civil society and think tanks have also partnered with the Government of India to ensure access to data and information to help develop robust transition pathways both at the national level as well as at the state level.
