[...] The programme draws on the Academy’s well-established and longstanding learned society member network, the origins of which lie in a core group of societies that stimulated the establishment of the Academy – originally named the Association of Learned Societies in the Social Sciences - in the mid 1990s. [...] The Board has taken account of the impact of Covid-19 on the short and long-term health of the Charity and is content that the measures taken, and level of reserves held, are sufficient to enable the Charity to continue operations for a period in excess of 12 months from the date of this report. [...] Company Law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charitable company for that period. [...] Responsibilities and basis of report As the Trustees of the Company (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 (‘the 2006 Act’).
