This is the first comprehensive study of environmental inequalities
produced by any city in the United States. Low-income communities and
communities of color are disproportionately
impacted by environmental inequities, due
to legacies of discriminatory actions by public and
private entities. The EJNYC Report evaluates a selection of
environmental burdens and benefits across the city
and between Environmental Justice and non-Environmental Justice Areas to identify
potential disparities.
