It applied, in particular, because of the shift to a system focus and therefore the need for boards to focus on the service system as a whole and the public interest in addition to their fiduciary responsibilities to their individual organizations. [...] Successful navigation and resolution of the many complexities of the new system will require generative thinking and dialogue among all of the parties to governance in the system: MCYS, lead agencies, service agencies and youth and families. [...] In the context of governance in child and youth mental health, this model provides the framework for the research by informing the following questions: • What are the expected outcomes of good governance in the context of child and youth mental health transformation? [...] Governance for transitioning child and youth mental health sector Although on the surface there may appear to be an inherent tension between accountability to funders and qualit y. of service to clients, the outcome of good governance is the practice of balancing and adhering to both.
