Civilians were ordered to move to a 60km² area extending from 6 May Mawasi, an Israeli-declared humanitarian zone on Gaza’s coast, to the coast north to which the population of Rafah is being displaced, and across Gaza, all of which will face of Deir al-Balah. [...] Mawasi was already sheltering up to 450,000 Palestinian IDPs, the impact of the disruption to humanitarian operations in Rafah and the closure of Rafah with no space for an IDP influx from Rafah.
