Whilst the Windsor Framework of early 2023 ended the deadlock in UK-EU relations, it took another year of talks between the UK government and the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), which continued to reject the provisions of the Windsor Framework, to re-establish the devolved government. [...] The Commission’s annual report also highlighted concerns about the impact of the Retained EU Law Act on the level playing field and of the Data Protection and Digital Information (No 2) Bill on the free flow of personal data between the EU and the UK.
