COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN - THE EAST CENTRAL ALBERTA CATHOLIC SEPARATE SCHOOL DIVISION

WHEREAS this collective agreement is made pursuant to the laws of the province of Alberta as amended from time to time including but not limited to the Education Act, the Alberta Human Rights Act, the Public Education Collective Bargaining Act (PECBA), the Teaching Profession Act, the Employment Standards Code, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Labour Relations Code. [...] The evaluation of teacher education for salary grid purposes shall be determined by a statement of qualifications issued by the Alberta Teacher Qualifications Service in accordance with the policies and principles approved by the Teacher Salary Qualifications Board established under Memorandum of Agreement among the Department of Education, The Alberta Teachers' Association and the Alberta School. [...] Subject to the provisions of the master policies, all teachers appointed to the staff of the Employer, after the signing of this collective agreement, shall be required to enroll in the ASEBP. [...] The Employer agrees to pay the sum of the course expenses incurred by the teacher for courses taken at the request of the Employer. [...] Upon expiration of the leave provided pursuant to clause 11.1.1, the teacher shall be reinstated in the position the teacher occupied at the time the leave commenced or in a mutually agreed upon position.
