Brazilian Sustainable Taxonomy: Inputs for Classifying Land Use Activities - May 2024

With the aim of contributing to the construction of the taxonomy, this report presents ten recommendations aimed at emphasizing the applicability and usability of the taxonomy at the scale needed to generate the desired impacts. [...] The action plan also recognizes the importance of mechanisms to ensure transparency and the consistent disclosure of information about the financial flows aligned with the taxonomy, mentioning the creation of a centralized platform with the aim of guaranteeing the integrity of the information. [...] However, it is important that the structure of the requirements and criteria of the different activities for the land use sector follow the same standard, which allow for comparability and assessment of the degree of alignment of investments between different sectors. [...] The aim of the report was to analyze the volume of resources contracted in the 2020/2021 harvest for some rural credit lines and their alignment with the Climate Bonds Taxonomy.23 In the report, CBI informs that the selection of the lines analyzed (sub-programs) was based on the work of the Environmentally Sustainable Productive Systems (SPAS), prepared by MAPA—analyzed in this document below.
