Therefore, the Goal of Federal Government of Nigeria is to increase access to electricity to 75% of the population (rural and urban) by 2020 and at least 10% of renewable energy mix by 2025 as contained in the National Electric Power Policy (NEPP) of 2001 and the Rural Electrification Policy of 2005 respectively. [...] The grant amount will be fixed for each system size/level of service category and reduced over the life of the programme to a nominal level during the final period of the program. [...] According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the confirmed number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country is growing exponentially and has reached 1,728, with the number of unconfirmed cases estimated to be significantly higher given the likely number of asymptomatic cases and the challenges with rapidly mobilizing testing.
