The ESMF hereafter outline the procedure to identify, mitigate the Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts associated with the project activities in addition to other chapters explaining the Infection Control and Medical Waste Management Plan ICMWMP, Implementation Budget and Stakeholder Engagement Requirements and approach. [...] More specifically, this component will finance the procurement of medical and non-medical supplies, medicines, vaccines and equipment as well as training and implementation expenses and limited rehabilitation and upgrading of the existing facilities as needed for activities outlined in the Yemen Preparedness and Response Plan such as: (i) Rapid detection at the district level and at the POEs ident [...] However, the project might cause substantial environmental, health and safety risks due to the hazardous nature of the pathogen and reagents and other materials to be used in the project-supported laboratories and quarantine facilities.
