[...] We have witnessed the increasing role of digitization, and how data can assist in planning and decision-making during the COVID-19 pandemic; in the success of unified payment interface (UPI); in the rollout of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) program, and in the extensive Good and Service Tax Network (GSTN) Network. [...] He became a full professor in 1989 and served as Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Institute, and as Head of the Delhi Centre of the Institute. [...] However, the combination of survey 20 Leveraging State Data Ecosystems for State and District Level Policy and Planning and administrative data has the potential to yield new and faster insights to help decision-making, especially at the local level. [...] Several data-rich kinds of administrative data and survey data can be used for this purpose: for example the data collected and retained by the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MOSPI); the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI); and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MOC), among many others.
