People's Commission into the Housing Crisis Submission

The Victorian Government is providing the following submission to the People’s Commission into the Housing Crisis, in recognition of our understanding of the housing crisis, its impacts and the actions and the partnerships we are delivering to make a difference. [...] More Homes for Aboriginal Victorians As a part of the Big Housing Build, ten per cent of Victoria’s social housing boost has been targeted to housing developments to meet the needs of Aboriginal Victorians. [...] The Victorian Government is also ensuring new housing OFFICIAL Submission: People’s Commission into the Housing Crisis 3 commitments such the Regional Housing Fund and Commonwealth’s Social Housing Accelerator, including dedicated allocations to support housing Aboriginal Victorians. [...] The Affordable Housing Rental Scheme is creating a unique alternative to the private rental market to help low to moderate income Victorian renters get access to high quality and secure housing at an affordable rent. [...] Commonwealth Programs In addition to the Big Housing Build investment, the Victorian Government is working with the Commonwealth Government and the community housing sector to ensure that the Housing Australia Future Fund and the National Housing Accord can deliver much needed social and affordable housing for Victorians.
