The project cost is estimated at US$13 million and it is anticipated that the proposed World Bank project will commence in 2020 and run for three (3) years and consist of a combination of safety and operational improvements concentrated in the two existing airports of Dominica, and technical assistance activities aiming at strengthening the capacity of DASPA and Department of Civil Aviation. [...] This draft ESA of the proposed project has been prepared by the Government of Dominica to assess the environmental and social risks and impacts of the project throughout the project life cycle. [...] The requirements set out of Environment and Social Standard 1 (ESS1) of the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) will be applied to techncial assistance (TA) activities as relevant and appropriate to the nature of the risks and impacts.
