The development objective of the Agriculture and Rural Development Project for Kosovo is to improve productivity of and access to markets by project beneficiaries in the horticulture and livestock subsectors of Kosovo through the implementation of selected measures of its agricultural strategy and strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development. Some of the negative impacts and mitigation measures include: (1) stationary air emission sources should be located as far as possible from the sensitive receptors for air quality; (2) demolition debris shall be kept in controlled area and sprayed with wetting agent to reduce debris dust (see measures for hazardous material); (3) construction works in and or in close vicinity of the settlements will not be permitted during the night to reduce noise; (4) the pumped water should be discharged in a controlled manner that will minimize the physical impacts on the water, as well the morphology of the recipient, or to be used as a technical water for reduction of dust emission; (5) washing of mixers for prefabricated concrete that contain concrete with alkali cement or cement residues is not allowed as well as washing of the equipment and vehicles in the rivers or in their vicinity; (6) rehabilitation activities to be performed in a period of low rainfalls in order to minimize the possibilities of flooding and spreading of sediment; and (7) establishing waste management procedure and evidential list for generated waste and its management.
