Sierra Leone burns while the UN fiddles

1 Jan 2000

The Revolutionary United Front in Sierra Leone shows signs of breaking into smaller factions however the possibility of long term peace remains elusive. Although the RUF leader remains in prison this is not deterring the RUF from initiating several skirmishes. The United Nations Force lacks direction and do not have enough troops to enforce peace. The British are currently the most respected key players in Sierra Leone due to the fact that they raise the level of their involvement almost weekly. However the inability of the UN and continued instability and friction within the RUF will result in continued war for Sierra Leone.
