She served as a Member of the Maldives Qualification Authority Advisory Board, a Member of the Technical Working Committee of Learning Advancement and Measurement Project at the Ministry of Higher Education, a Member of the Local Education Group to Global Partnership for Education at the Ministry of Education and a Member of the Research Ethics Committee at Maldives National University. [...] Dheeba has contributed to the higher education sector of Maldives in many ways, including the role of Lecturer in both public universities in the Maldives and the Dean of IUM before being appointed as the DVC of IUM in 2019. [...] The reason India took this initiative is because it is important to understand and listen to the views of the developing world, and try and get a sense of the concerns, ideas and proposals that can come forth from the Global South as inputs to India’s Presidency. [...] How can we respond to what neighbours are saying? Or, what the G20 countries are saying? Obviously, as the President G20 and India: The Message of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ 9 of the G20, we have to take into account the views of the developed world, the developing world, the views of our neighbours and the views of everybody concerned. [...] Thus, what can the institutions that have been set up to address these issues—such as the Bretton Woods institutions and the UN—do to address such crises? COVID has shown the limitations of the system and also the fact that today the IMF and the World Bank need a stronger mandate to be able to garner more resources, including from the private sector, blended financing, private-public partnerships,.
