This report investigates the deaths and injuries linked to the lethal use of force by defence and security forces in Mali, in the context of anti-government demonstrations that began in May 2020 and during the coup d’état of 18 August 2020. The victims cannot be forgotten. Authorities must ensure investigations for all cases during the demonstrations and the coup, and prosecute those allegedly responsible, before ordinary courts.
