Gender peer effects in the workplace: A field experiment in call centres in India

The evidence from this study can further add to the knowledge of the state and firms and promote hiring of women in the smaller towns of India. [...] This is so that the total number of male employees in the two mixed gender teams is approximately equal to the total number of male employees in the same gender team. [...] Team bonding exercises were played under the supervision of the research team and the quality auditor in the conference room of the call center. [...] For processes in the first half of the study timeline, endline data could not be collected for everyone in the sample as most of the agents had left by the end of the study period. [...] Each individual worker in the study is surveyed on these questions prior to the start of the study (baseline) and towards the end of the study (endline).
