The Council of Europe uses this to “encompass the wide diversity of the groups covered by the work of the Council of Europe in this field: on the one hand a) Roma, Sinti/Manush, Calé, Kaale, Romanichals, Boyash/Rudari; b) Balkan Egyptians (Egyptians and Ashkali); c) Eastern groups (Dom, Lom and Abdal); and, on the other hand, groups such as Travellers, Yenish, and the populations designated under. [...] The Serbian government was one of the signatories to the Decade of Roma Inclusion and adopted The Strategy of Social Inclusion of Roma for the 2016-2025 Period (Government of Serbia, 2016). [...] Methodology As part of a larger research project ‘Marginality on the Margins of Europe – The Impact of COVID-19 on Roma Communities in Non-EU Countries in Eastern Europe’2 conducted by the University of Leicester and the European Centre for Minority Issues in Flensburg, data was collected through a series of local research assistants in each of the seven states studied (Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovi.
