LOTFA is used to pay the salaries of police and corrections personnel and to build the capacity of the Afghan Ministry of the Interior and the police. [...] The ANA Trust Fund was created in 2007 to provide a mechanism - for Allied and partner nations contributing troops to the former NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan, as well as for other NATO partners – to support the transportation and installation of donated equipment, to purchase equipment and services for ANA engineering projects, and to support in and out-of. [...] Over time, the scope of the ANA Trust Fund was expanded to also support the sustainment of the Afghan National Army, to support literacy and professional military education and capacity building activities – including those to strengthen good governance within the Afghan security structures - and to enhance women’s meaningful participation within the relevant Afghan Ministries and security institu. [...] The Afghan National Army Trust Fund is directly linked to the implementation of a roadmap launched by the Afghan government to further develop the Afghan security forces and institutions. [...] In 2019, a Project Review Board has been set up within the Afghan government to prioritise projects based on Afghan army requirements and to ensure that funding and maintenance contracts are in place after the completion of projects and the subsequent handover to the Afghan government for their sustainment.
