[...] This involves opening up the vagina and urethra to remove the mesh and then repairing the holes in the urethra and the vagina. [...] Sometimes mesh in the urethra can be removed without opening the urethra, either by using a laser in the urethra or by cutting the mesh from the inside of the urethra. [...] Removal of the rest of the mesh from the vagina or from behind the pubic bone can be performed at the same time as removal of mesh from the bladder.
