IPCC Expert Meeting on Assessing Climate Information for Regions - Trieste, Italy, 16-18 May 2018

The meeting aimed to explore the needs of regional feed into the WGI and WGII AR6 report, in particular on the issues information for the risk assessment framework and the current of linking global to regional climate change, extending the overall knowledge gaps in developing regional climate information, as well narrative of the WGI report to explicitly assess the foundations for as the inter-lin. [...] The WGII AR6 contribution exploring the needs of regional information for the risk assessment devotes seven chapters to the regional assessment of climate framework, and the translation of regional climate information change impacts and risks, including coastal oceans. [...] For the WGI, D&A AR5 climate risk analysis and management framework, to highly mostly refer to the detection of change in the climate system differentiate impacts, and decision-making under uncertainty, as (including trends and extremes) from statistical analyses, and the well as the near-term and long-term regional climate information attribution of observed changes to a cause. [...] The workshop provided an opportunity to reflect on the past assessment and to explore ways to facilitate the collaboration and exchange between the different communities in advance of and during the AR6, with the goal to enhance the information IPCC can provide its users and stakeholders.
