A political party must certify to the secretary of state no later than the 74 days before the election the names of the candidates for president and vice-president and the names of the presidential electors. [...] An independent candidate for the office of President or Vice President must file with the Secretary of State no later than the Friday before the opening of qualifying for the office a slate of candidates for the office of presidential elector which the independent candidate has certified as being the presidential electors for the independent candidate. [...] The organization must certify to the secretary of state no later than the 73rd day before the general election the name of the candidates for president and vice-president, the names of the presidential electors, and the names of the delegates in attendance at the convention or caucus. [...] If the state party does not file the certificate with the secretary of state by the third Tuesday in August, the national chairman of the party must certify the names of the presidential electors to the secretary of state no later than the first Friday following the third Tuesday in August. [...] Political parties must certify the names of the candidates for president and vice-president and the names of the presidential electors before the later of the 71st day before the presidential election, or the first business day after the date of final adjournment of a party’s national nominating convention.
