Uganda has the de jure and de facto right to work, Ethiopia has the de jure right to work but not the de facto right to work, while Kenya has the de facto right to work in part of the country but not the de jure right to work. [...] The uniqueness of the construction sector was attributed to the large number of semi-skilled host youths seeking work in the sector. [...] The authors of the study developed a model to analyze the redistributive effects of the arrival of Syrian refugees in Turkey. [...] Main findings: • The influx of Syrian refugees led to an increase in informality in the regions most affected by the refugee shock, such as Southeast Anatolia and Mediterranean, as well as in other regions due to the migration of native workers in response to refugee arrivals. [...] The authors conclude that the loss of vegetation cover in the Kas locality of Darfur is primarily caused by the presence of IDP settlements.
