[...] In this regard, I am pleased to inform Parties and observers that, after due consideration of all applications by the Advisory Selection Committee of the Voluntary Funding Mechanism, and in consultation with the Bureau of the Conference of the Parties, the selection of representatives of indigenous peoples and local communities who will receive support for their participation in the above-mentione. [...] The beneficiaries will be contacted directly by the Secretariat with regard to their travel arrangements. [...] The selection was carried out in accordance with the criteria for the operation of the Voluntary Funding Mechanism to facilitate the participation of indigenous peoples and local communities in the work of the Convention as set out in the annex to decision VIII/5 D, and in accordance with the selection criteria established in section B of the same annex.
