8 Governance Arrangements for the Industrial Corridors The DMIC The idea of the DMIC originated with two related developments: one, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Government of India and the Government of Japan in 2006 to signal collaboration on infrastructure development in India; and two, the planned development of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) between Delhi and Mu.
