[...] The two leaders reaffirmed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific – especially in the South China Sea. [...] The aim of the exercise was to enhance cooperation, interoperability, and combined capabilities in the maritime domain, contributing to peace, and stability, and upholding the freedom of navigation and overflight in the Indo-Pacific region.
