Wine Australia pledge and progress towards meaningful change in the Australian grape and wine sector

Wine Australia pledges to: • deliver meaningful support and representation of women across our supported programs, activities and networks, and • continue supporting women to develop their careers, leadership skills and experience within Wine Australia and across the grape and wine sector. [...] We have been incredibly fortunate to have offered a significant number of women across the grape and wine sector with a fully-funded digital upskilling program, through our collaboration with Flinders University with funding from the Australian Government through the Women in STEM cadetships and advanced apprenticeships program. [...] We remain a proud signatory to the Diversity and Equality Charter for the grape and wine sector. [...] The associated Action Plan is an outline of activities the sector, led by peak industry body Australian Grape & Wine, and will undertake to achieve behavioural and cultural change to support diversity and gender equality throughout the sector. [...] A new report Women in the Australian wine sector: How have the numbers changed in CEO, winemaking, viticulture, and marketing roles since 2013? conducted by Dr Jeremy Galbreath of Strateos Group, funded by Wine Australia, has revealed an increase in the representation of the studied roles in the Australian grape and wine community.
