As of 2024, Serbia assumes the presidency of the Global Partnership on AI for a term spanning three years and will host the prestigious 494 AI Development Strategy of the Republic of Serbia for the 2020–2025 period (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia No 96/2019). [...] Are there already actual court decisions on the provision of legal services using AI or decisions concerning other sectors that might be applicable to the use of AI in the provision of legal services? Currently, there are no public court cases directly applicable or relevant to the use of AI in the provision of legal services in Serbia. [...] What is the current status – planned, discussed or implemented – of the sectorial legislation in your jurisdiction on the use of AI in the legal profession or services that are traditionally provided by lawyers? There are no enacted laws that explicitly regulate AI applications for legal services, but the topic is gaining attention due to the increasing relevance of AI technologies in various sect. [...] Among its key responsibilities are the enhancement of professional and ethical standards, the development of the legal profession and the strengthening of professional discipline and accountability among its members. [...] The proactive engagement of these professional bodies is essential not only to harness the benefits of AI, but also to mitigate the risks, ensuring that the deployment of AI technologies in legal services enhances rather than undermines the quality and integrity of the profession.
