Time: 12:30-1:00pm AZTAt the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) will officially launch its annual report during a press conference on 15 November 2024.An Eye on Methane takes stock of progress harnessing a methane data revolution that can accelerate methane reduction at a global scale. The report details how satellite data provided by UNEP’s Methane Alert and Response System is – and is not – being used to drive action, assesses progress shifting the oil and gas sector to credible and measurement-based emissions data, and details how UNEP’s IMEO is evolving its scientific research campaigns on methane emissions to enable mitigation.
