In the current landscape, our overarching principle is clear: people and the planet should be at the centre of all our efforts: • We have contributed to assessing the level of implementation of the EPSR at the national and the European level and, through the analysis of the Social Rights Monitor, we have produced policy recommendations for EU-level decisionmakers. [...] 9 INCLUSIVE EDUCATION AND LIFELONG LEARNING The European Year of Skills and the mid-term review of the European Education Area and the Erasmus+ programme have provided important opportunities to highlight the central role of education and lifelong learning in achieving a just trans. [...] • We highlighted the importance of transversal competences, their validation and the role of civil society organisations in this regard, by organising debates at the European level based on the results of the IMAGES and TRANSVAL-EU projects and in the framework of the LLLWeek. [...] • In early March 2023, in the frame of the EESC Civil Society Days, SOLIDAR together with the European Movement International (EMI), and the European Environmental Bureau (EEB) organized the workshop session on the future of participatory and deliberative democracy, to discuss the relevance of citizen’s participation to complement participatory democracy in Europe. [...] These topics included the implementation of SDGs in and by the Eu as part of the European Voluntary Review processes, the 2030 Agenda or the future of the European Green Deal (EGD).
