[...] The US$157 billion in financing provided by the Bank, since the onset of the crisis, has enabled countries to bolster their emergency health responses; acquire and distribute vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics; provide supports for people; and lay the foundation for a strong, equitable, and sustainable economic recovery. [...] The joint response of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association has helped to save lives in over 100 countries. [...] With many governments at risk of debt distress as a result of the pandemic, we also recognize efforts by the International Finance Corporation and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency to enable the private sector to promote an inclusive and sustainable recovery.
