The Easter attacks of April 2019 and the progressive economic decline during the previous years had lowered the popularity of the incumbent government especially among the Sinhala majority, augmenting the electoral prospects of 15 Annual Report 2019-2020 the Rajapaksas, who had the reputation of having dealt with LTTE decisively in the past. [...] The latest edition of the Review was titled Major Powers and the Korean Peninsula: Politics, Policies and Perspectives, wherein it situated some of the critical issues in the Korean theatre within the competing geopolitical interests, strategic choices and policy debates among the major powers. [...] The second edited book titled The Korean Peninsula and Indo-Pacific Power: 20 Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses Status Security at Stake, assesses the strategic linkages that the Korean Peninsula shares with the Indo-Pacific and provides a succinct picture of issues which will shape the trajectory of the Korean Peninsula in the future. [...] The Centre also participated in the Conference of State Parties of the Chemical Weapons Convention at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the Hague. [...] Other scholars spoke on India and Geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific at the Norwegian Embassy on 17 February 2020 and participated in a conversation on ‘India and the Indo-Pacific’ on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue 2020, in January 2020.
