[...] In an age where the power of the defence is in the ascendant, it is wise to embrace the stronger aspect of war. [...] 6 The Centre of Gravity Series At present, each service dominates a domain: the sea belongs to the RAN, the air to the Royal Australian Air Force, and the land to the Army. [...] The rise of the defence as the stronger side of war, and the ability of states to connect a variety of technologies into a powerful A2AD system offers Australia an opportunity to enact a different policy than the one it has chosen hitherto.
