[...] The pandemic has shed light on the need for greater global solidarity, the importance of listening to the science, the costs of delayed action and the interdependence between humans and nature. [...] Accounting for environmental integrity: A world that measures a country’s prosperity and ‘development’ according to the state of its natural capital, i.e., the quality of its air, soils and water, the diversity of terrestrial and aquatic life, the integrity of its ecosystems, etc. [...] 2.1 Pushing the planet beyond its limits Climate and environmental disruptions pose a major threat to human health and safety, and young people will live with the consequences of activities of the past that will push the planet outside of a ‘safe operating space for humanity’ or the planetary boundaries. [...] We, a world in which the youth authors of this report, envision a world in which the development of societies centres on the development happiness, well-being and solidarity, and is contained of societies within the limits of the planet.
