The report and its findings should be attributed to the authors, rather than to ISER, the University of Alaska Anchorage, or the sponsors of the research. [...] The opinions and conclusions of this paper are those of the authors and do not represent those of the Council of Alaska Producers, the University of Alaska, or the Institute of Social and Economic Research. [...] 2.1 Commercial Fishing Revenue to the State of Alaska The commercial fishing industry provides 15 sources of revenue for the State of Alaska. [...] Some people have indicated to the authors that 1) the legislature is not constitutionally obligated to follow the law, and 2) the municipalities that receive the state share of the money usually use some or all of it for purposes other than to promote or regulate the fishing industry. [...] There is also loan interest, some of which is used by the Division to administer the funds, some of which is returned to the loan funds, and some of which remains in the General Fund to be used for any purpose by the legislature.
