This version of the EIB’s climate action and environmental sustainability criteria incorporates the substantial contribution criteria outlined for climate change mitigation and climate change adaptation in the first Climate Delegated Act1. [...] The methodology for tracking climate change adaptation finance contained in the Joint MDB Climate Finance 2020 report3 and the criteria developed by the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance for substantial contribution to adaptation will be the basis for activities not covered by the first Climate Delegated Act. [...] Since the EU taxonomy for the four remaining environmental sustainability objectives has not yet been adopted, the EIB will continue to use interim definitions based on the framework defined in the Taxonomy Regulation, as explained in the Climate Bank Roadmap. [...] For activities not covered in the Delegated Act, the source documents are the following: the MDB adaptation finance tracking methodology7, the MDB-IDFC Common Principles on Adaptation Finance Tracking8 and the final report of the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance.
