[...] Our governance structure The CCC’s corporate governance structure is framed by the requirements of the Climate Change Act which sets out both the legal duties of the CCC and the functions and broad governance structure of the organisation. [...] Work to improve the resilience and security of the Defra IT network continues and will be reviewed by the CCC as part of the planned assessment of the adequacy of our Information Security. [...] Opinion on regularity In my opinion, in all material respects, the income and expenditure recorded in the financial statements have been applied to the purposes intended by Parliament and the financial transactions recorded in the financial statements conform to the authorities which govern them. [...] The going concern basis of accounting for the Committee on Climate Change is adopted in consideration of the requirements set out in HM Treasury’s Government Financial Reporting Manual, which require entities to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in the preparation of the financial statements where it anticipated that the services which they provide will continue into the future.
