[...] Commission & PSC The Bill requires for the establishment of the following: • A bipartisan Parliamentary Select Committee from the Dewan Rakyat (between 6-12 MPs) on Political Financing. [...] • The figure of RM130,000,000 is a figure derived by taking the median of the last 10 years of federal budget and multiplied it by 0.05% (in reference to BERSIH’s 2021 paper & formulas). [...] 12 Further reforms required • The PFA is only the first step in ensuring a more transparent and accountable political system • Further reforms are needed such as an Asset Declaration Act, a Political Parties Act, reforms to the AG’s Chambers, the MACC, the Election Commission and Constituency Development Funds • Engagement with the private sector must be done 13 THANK YOU.
