This includes contributing to the achievement of the AU’s aspirations to enhance gender equality and the participation of women and Africa’s youth, in line with the goals of Agenda 2063 and the SDGs. [...] In doing so, it looks at a series of important frameworks, including the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa (Maputo Protocol); the AU Gender Policy and its Plan of Action; the aspirations and goals of Agenda 2063; the Youth Decade Plan of Action; and the African Youth Charter.
