Bourgogne is one of the most famous wine regions of France: the regional vineyards represents only 1.7% of the regional UUA, 4.1% of the French vineyard and 1% of the EU area under vines but is very renowned for its specialisation in quality wines (97% of the regional vineyard in PDO-PGI, 85% at national level), as well as from a historical point of view.
