In December 2020, Labour leader Keir Starmer announced the Commission on the UK's Future to examine what constitutional changes are required to bring power, wealth and opportunity closer to people in every part of the UK. Chaired by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, its members are drawn from across the UK and from different backgrounds including academia, local government, the legal profession, and trade unions.
