Over 70 organisations and individuals from across England and Wales have come together to provide evidence for our report to the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. This submission is made on behalf of civil
society groups and individuals in both England
and Wales who submitted written and oral
evidence and /or participated in capacity
building webinars in response to a call for
evidence organised by Just Fair. Just Fair is a
UK-based charity with specific expertise in
economic, social, and cultural rights (ESC rights). The submission is evidence-led. There were
over 70 participants in the evidence gathering
process which took place between August
and September 2022. The purpose of this submission is to assist
the United Nations Committee on Economic,
Social & Cultural Rights (the Committee) in
identifying the areas which merit in-depth
examination and further explanation from
the State Party as part of the substantive
review of the United Kingdom’s International
Covenant on Social, Economic and Cultural
Rights (ICESCR) compliance.
