In high-emitting sectors of the economy,
it is vital to understand where tipping
points exist that could propel accelerated
adoption of zero-emission solutions; High-emitting sectors of the economy
do not exist in isolation from each other
– they are highly inter-connected,
and zero-emission solutions can
influence transitions in multiple sectors
simultaneously; Different actions are required across
every sector to bring forward positive
tipping points, depending on the stage
of development of their dominant zero emission solutions. The report examines where positive socioeconomic tipping points may exist for zero-emission
solutions and what conditions can activate these
tipping points. When the conditions are set to trigger
tipping points, reinforcing feedback loops become
a dominant market driver and the adoption of zero carbon solutions scales up an S-curve. 'The Breakthrough Effect: How to trigger a cascade of
tipping points to accelerate the net zero transition’,
