The Black Summer bushfire season was the worst on record for New South Wales in terms of its intensity, the area burned, and the number of properties lost.1 Following it, Emergency Leaders for Climate Action brought together 150 experts from around the country to discuss how Australia should respond to the growing risks of extreme weather disasters.
