[...] The 107-page report documents serious and widespread human rights violations committed during the six-months long conflict. [...] The report is largely based on Amnesty International’s fact-finding visit to Libya between 26 February and 28 May 2011, including to the cities of al-Bayda, Ajdabiya, Brega, Benghazi, Misratah and Ras Lanouf. [...] Amnesty International delegates returned to Libya in late August, days before opposition forces stormed Tripoli. [...] The report will be released at the same time as Amnesty International hands over its Human Rights Agenda for Change for Libya to the new authorities, setting out what the organization believes to be the key priorities to ensure that the NTC’s stated commitments to human rights reform are translated into reality.
