Summary

Jamaica's adolescent fertility rate is nearly two times higher than the average rate for upper middle-income countries. Young women in Jamaica are 4 percentage points more likely than young men to be out of employment, not in education, or in training. Men are 10 percentage points more likely than women to have vulnerable jobs. 75 percent of men have access to a financial account compared to 71 percent of women. 1 in 10 women have experienced physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence in the last 12 months. There are no provisions in the law regarding parental leave.
