[...] Length of delay at census point Of those delayed at the January 2023 census point, the average (median) length of delay was 21 days, a decrease of 25% on the figure of 28 days reported for December 2022. The December figure was the highest figure reported so far, this financial year and the January 2023 figure is the shortest average (median) length of delay reported since May 2022. [...] The chart above shows that the trend in the average daily number of beds occupied by people delayed in their discharge is predominantly driven by the trend in standard delays (health and social care and patient, family and carer related) reasons.
