"Fibre reinforced polymer matrix composites are used because they are lightweight, durable, corrosion-free materials. Before they can be chosen for an application, an understanding is needed of their long-term durability. This report discusses potential degradation mechanisms, how to simulate them in an accelerated timeframe and how to measure the resulting change in material properties in a laboratory setting. The goal of thes overview is to educate the reader on how to evaluate, and possibly predict, the degradation of composite materials in a marine environment."--Abstract, p. i. "November 2016."
