[...] Act • Consolidation of the Official Languages Act (2013) The Official Languages Act of Nunavut recognizes the “inherent right to the use of the Inuit Language in full equality with the other Official Languages.” The Act allows for speakers of Inuktut to acquire government services throughout the Territory in their language. [...] The Act also supports “the development of English and French linguistic minority communities and generally advances the equality of status and use of the English and French languages within Canadian society.” • The Indigenous Languages Act The Indigenous Languages Act received Royal Assent in 2019.
